  • A fish, Argyrosomus hololopidotus, generally from the northern waters of Australia, although it is found in all states with the exception of Tasmania. They can grow to 50 kg but average 2 to 8 kg. The flesh is white and the smaller fish make excellent eating. They are normally grey-blue above shading to a silver belly.
