Multicollinearity

Definition

Health Economics

  • When two or more independent variables are linearly related, they both convey essentially the same information in multiple linear regression analysis. One is not likely to contribute significantly to the model in the presence of the other(s). Together they may, however, contribute a lot. When this happens, the independent variables are said to be collinear and the phenomenon is called multicollinearity.
