Muscadet AOC

  • an appellation in the Loire valley of France that is named, unusually for France, after a grape variety rather than a town or village. The region produces light, crisp, dry white wine made from grapes of the same name (elsewhere called melon de Bourgogne). The wines from Muscadet AOC are the lowest quality. The best are from the Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine AOC.
