Health Economics

  • This is a planning mechanism used in the UK National Health Service to set national standards and define service models for a service or care group, put in place programmes to support implementation and to establish performance measures against which progress within agreed timescales can be measured. They currently (2009) cover broad areas like cancer, coronary heart disease, diabetes, mental health, older people and children.
