  • A parallel processing computer architecture in which the total available memory is divided into multiple shared segments, as opposed to being in one centralized location. The processor's own memory is accessed the fastest, while the rest of the memory banks are accessed at varying speeds depending on their location. Its abbreviation is NUMA. Also spelled nonuniform memory access.
