  • The acting schools of the Restoration theater in London. Thefirst one, the Nursery, was established in about 1662 at Hatton Gardenby Thomas Killigrew and later moved to the Vere Street Theatre.By the time the Nursery closed in 1671 two other schools had opened:the Barbican Nursery, run by Sir William Davenant's widow,and the Bun Hill Nursery. see drama school.
