  • adjective outrageous, wild and uncontrolled. A shortening of the late 1970s catchphrase over the top, given wider currency by its adoption as the title of an anarchic TV comedy show in the early 1980s. It often occurs in phrases such as ‘go (completely) O.T.T’.
