Observational Study

Definition

Health Economics

  • A study that depends merely on observing 'what is' without observer intervention, say, in the form of creating controls or blinding or randomizing. Causal relationships may be hypothesized and tested empirically using data from such studies. The great majority of multivariate empirical economics is of this kind.
