  • a wine-producing area that covers parts of four states: Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia. It is the largest AVA in the US and was once also the largest wine-producing region in North America, with a 200-year history. After being devastated by disease and Prohibition, it is making a comeback as a producer of quality wines from a range of grape varieties.
