  • A coastal seawater fish, Pollachius pollachius, of the cod family with a protruding lower jaw and a dark green upper skin, found throughout the North Atlantic. It does not have as fine a flavour as cod but is otherwise similar and cooked in the same way. Generally sold at 50 cm in length.
