    a program that spends more time executing instructions and using the CPU than in I/O operations

Electronics

  • A circumstance in which a CPU is overloaded with calculations, which impairs its ability to process. May occur, for example, while recalculating a spreadsheet. Also called compute-bound, or CPU-bound.
