quartz resonator

Definition

Electronics

  • A resonant circuit which utilizes a quartz piezoelectric crystal to control the resonance frequency. Such resonators may be used, for instance, to control the frequency of an oscillator, and feature a highly accurate and stable output, especially when in a temperature-controlled environment. Also called quartz-crystal resonator, piezoelectric resonator, or crystal resonator.
