  • A material or enclosure which limits or blocks the effects of radiation, such as ionizing radiation. Also called radiation shielding (1).
  • A radiation shield (1) which serves to confine radiation within an enclosure. Used, for instance, to help minimize or prevent electromagnetic interference which may affect other devices or systems. Also called radiation shielding (2).
