• A form of lidar which utilizes the Raman effect to measure atmospheric parameters such as water vapor or ozone concentration, and temperature. In it, a laser beam is directed into the atmosphere, with scattering intensity being correlated with any measurements being made. Its abbreviation is RL. Also called scattering Raman lidar.
