  • Earth formed into thick, durable monolithic building walls thatare energy-efficient and fire-resistant. Typically used in hot, dry climates, rammed earth walls are composed of screened engineered soil and cement, formed to be 18" or 24" thick. If used in cooler climates, rammed earth may require supplemental insulation or additional heating or cooling.
