  • A temperature scale which is the same as the Fahrenheit scale, except that a temperature of 0 degrees equals absolute zero. Its unit of temperature increment is the degree Rankine, or °R. When comparing to the Kelvin temperature scale, 1 °R equals exactly 5/9 kelvin. zero degrees Rankine equals 0 K, or approximately -459.67 °F. Also called Rankine scale.
