Real-Time Streaming Protocol

Definitions

Electronics

  • Its abbreviation is RTSP. A protocol for the real-time transmission of audio, video, or multimedia content. Used, for instance, over a TCP/IP network such as the Internet to broadcast a video presentation. RTP is similar to RTSP, with the main difference being that the former only allows one-way communication, while the latter is two-way. Thus, RTSP would permit the use of features such as rewinding or accessing chapters directly, while RTP would not.
