  • a style of wine produced in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy, made using the passito method in which the grapes are left to dry out in the sun to increase the natural sugar levels and produce good-quality dry (recioto amarone) or sweet (recioto) wines. The method is used in the Valpolicella, Gambellara and Soave DOC regions.
