reflected power

Definitions

Electronics

  • The ratio of the power returned to a source, to the transmitted power. It utilized, for instance, as a parameter to indicate or evaluate the extent to which there is impedance matching between two points, connectors, or devices in a transmission line. The lower the reflected power, the better the impedance matching.
  • Any power that is returned to, or towards, its source. For example, from a load back to a generator.
