  • The use of satellites (and aircraft) to obtain information about the Earth’s surface, waters and atmosphere

Electronics

  • The sensing of a signal or other phenomenon utilizing a detector, such as an infrared detector, which does not come into physical contact with that being measured or monitored. Also called remote detection, or teledetection.
