• Variability among replicate test results obtained on the same material within a single laboratory by one operator. Repeatability is a quantity that will be exceeded in only about 5% of the repetitions by the difference, taken in absolute value, of two randomly selected test results obtained in the same laboratory on a given material. In use of the term, all variable factors should be specified.
