- Variability among replicate test results obtained on the same material within a single laboratory by one operator. Repeatability is a quantity that will be exceeded in only about 5% of the repetitions by the difference, taken in absolute value, of two randomly selected test results obtained in the same laboratory on a given material. In use of the term, all variable factors should be specified.
Electronics
- The ability to duplicate readings, operations, results, or the like, in successive instances. For example, for an instrument to consistently provide the same indication of voltage or current under identical circumstances. Also called reproducibility.
