• noun a screen display mode in which white and black are reversed and colours are complemented

Electronics

• On a computer display, the exchanging of the light and dark areas of the screen. That which is normally light appears as dark, and vice versa. When highlighting, for instance, the selected area is displayed as reverse video. Also called inverse video.
