- A DVD technology which allows discs to be rewritten many times. To record, a high-intensity laser followed by a medium-intensity laser anneals the crystals in the recording layer, changing its reflectivity. A low-intensity laser in the DVD player reads the recorded information. Also called DVD-rewritable, or DVD-E.
- A DVD disc which can be rewritten many times. Also called DVD rewritable disc.
