  • verb to copulate with (a woman). First recorded in 1711, the term is probably older. Roger, like dick, peter, willie, etc., has been used in the past as a nickname for the penis. It was also frequently given as a name to bulls and rams. In modern British middle-class use it is often employed as an ‘acceptable’ alternative to taboo synonyms. Roger has also been employed to denote buggery (in a homosexual context).
