• the member of the Rothschild family who successfully campaigned to have Château Mouton-Rothschild promoted in 1973 from deuxième cru (second growth) to premier cru (first growth) status. He advocated château-bottling and introduced designer wine labels. With Robert Mondavi he also set up Opus One, a winery based in the Napa Valley, California, US.
