  • a white-skinned grape variety grown mostly in the northern Rhône valley region of France, and in limited quantity in parts of Italy and in Australia. It produces a delicate white wine and is used in many Rhône estates for blending, but is also the main grape of the well-known white wines from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Crozes-Hermitage AOCs.
