  • noun an EIA approved standard that extends the RS-232’s 50 ft limit, introduced at the same time as the RS-422 standard, but less widely used

Electronics

  • A standard interface for serial communications similar to RS-232C, but providing higher speed and transmission distances. RS-423 only supports point-to-point connections. Also called EIA/TIA-423, or TIA/EIA-423.
