  • When creating halftone images by photographing through a screen, the density of dots, as expressed in lines per inch or centimeter. A screen with 200 lines per inch is composed of dots that are one half the size of the dots on a screen of 100 lines per inch, so the former has higher resolution. This term is unrelated to concepts such as scanning frequency or picture frequency.
