  • The total size of a display screen, such as that of a TV or computer monitor, usually measured diagonally. In the case of CRTs, for instance, the screen size may be larger than the viewable image size, as there is usually a given space on the sides of the useful image. In the case of flat displays, however, stated screen sizes are generally equal to the size of the viewable image.
