  • A primitive flower-like polyp consisting of a digestive sac with a ring of tentacles around the opening and attached to the rocks at the base by a foot, common in European waters. They are prepared by removing the tentacles, turning inside out and cleaning thoroughly. The beadlet (also called ‘tomate de mer’) and oplet are eaten in France.
