sectorwood

Definition

Construction

  • A method of wood processing, patented by Weyerhaeuser company, in which round logs are first quartered and then cut into pie-shaped pieces called sectors. These pieces are then glued together to form wood 2" thick and up to 3'–4' in width. This wood can then be ripped to the desired widths. The process is designed to greatly increase the yield from small logs.
