Astronomy

  • Device for producing a permanent record of a spectrum. Modern examples consist generally of a diffraction grating fed by a telescope and in turn feeding a camera or some other recording device.

Electronics

  • A spectroscope equipped to produce a photographed or otherwise recorded output.
  • A device or instrument which enables plotting, photographing, or otherwise recording the output of instruments such as spectrometers or spectrophotometers.
