Sussex shepherd’s pie



  • chump chops of lamb are seasoned and floured then laid on a bed of chopped onion and lentils in a casserole dish, packed with small peeled potatoes, sprinkled with flour and brown sugar and covered with stock. The dish (with lid) is then put in an oven at 160°C for 3 hours with the lid removed for the last 20 minutes to brown the potatoes.
