  • A relative of the sweet potato, Ipomoea aquatica and I. reptans, which grows in water, hence the botanical name. Grown for its delicate leaves and stems which are used as a vegetable and eaten raw in salads. Originated in Africa but now grown in Australia, USA and Southeast Asia.
