  • A series of 15 plays based on events in US history by the USdramatist Paul Green (1894 - 1981). They were all staged out-of-doorsin his native state of North Carolina with a mixture of professionaland amateur actors. The first of the series was The Last Colony(1937). Green had previously won the Pulitzer Prize for his play InAbraham's Bosom (1926), about the decadence of the South.
