- An electromechanical device that converts a mechanical angular position into an electrical signal which is utilized to synchronize the angular position of a remote device. For example, one unit, the synchro transmitter, produces a voltage which is proportional to the angle of its rotor, and another unit, the synchro receiver matches the position of its rotor to that of the transmitter based on the voltage sent by said transmitter.
