tank circuit
Definitions
Electronics
- A resonant circuit in which a capacitor and an inductor are connected in parallel with an AC source. resonance occurs at or near the maximum impedance of the circuit. Also called antiresonance circuit, or parallel-resonant circuit.
- A circuit, such as a tank circuit (1), which serves to store energy.
- A tank circuit (2) which stores energy over a band of frequencies distributed around the resonant frequency.
