Temporal Monotonicity

Definition

Health Economics

  • Imagine two identical sequences of experiences, to one of which an improvement is added. Temporal monotonicity means that the changed sequence will be preferred to the unchanged one or, while if you worsen part of it, the unchanged sequence will be preferred. Experiments suggest that individuals do not always behave in this apparently rational way.
