- In the ancient Greek theater, a series of four works by the samedramatist, consisting of three tragedies followed by a satyr-play.These were presented in drama contests at the City Dionysia.In the early competitions, the four plays had a common theme and weregiven a common name. No complete tetralogies are extant; The Oresteiaof Aeschylus is the only surviving trilogy.
