  • The stage nickname of the British music hall performer'Jolly' John Nash (1830 - 1901), who perfected the laughingsong (such as 'Little Brown Jug') and was known for his silly walks.Nash, originally a Gloucestershire metal-worker, made his debut atthe Oxford Music Hall. He was the first music-hall artist to appearat a command performance and in 1874 became the first totour America.
