  • A filter whose output is a weighed sum of the current and past inputs. It is one of the two primary types of filters utilized in digital signal processing, the other being Infinite-impulse response filters. Transversal filters tend to be more linear, but less efficient than infinite-Impulse Response filters. Also called Finite-Impulse Response Filter.
