transverse magnetization
Definitions
Electronics
- magnetization of a material or medium in a manner in which the magnetic flux is essentially perpendicular to the long axis of the influencing field. In longitudinal magnetization (1) the converse is true.
- In magnetic recording, magnetization of a material or medium essentially in the direction perpendicular to that the material or medium is traveling. In longitudinal magnetization (2) the converse is true.
