  • Abbreviation of Ultra Advanced technology attachment. A protocol utilized for the transfer of data between a hard drive and the RAM of a computer. It provides increased data integrity and faster transfer rates than ATA or IDE, and currently features speeds ranging up to 133 MBps. Its own abbreviation is UATA. Also called Ultra DMA, or Ultra IDE.
