  • soldering in which components, whose leads to be joined are coated with a paste or eutectic solder, are lowered into a chamber with boiling hydrocarbons. This melts the solder and forms good electrical connections. Used, for instance, in surface mount technology, but does emit harmful hydrocarbons. Its abbreviation is VPS.
