  • An instrument which measures and indicates voltages, resistances, and currents in an electric circuit. Such a device usually provides an easy manner, such as a switch, to change between functions. It is the same as a volt-ohm-ammeter, except that current readings are in milliamperes, or smaller units such as microamperes. Its abbreviation is VOM.
