• A swap, such as that of a hard drive, where the computer is powered and functioning, but in which the bus the device connects to must be inactive at the moment of exchange. It is intermediate between a cold swap and a hot swap.
• A hot swap performed when the computer is in an inactive state, such as a sleep mode.
