  • The synthesizing of the sounds of musical instruments by storing digital information taken from recordings of the actual instruments. Such data can be mixed, combined, enhanced, and so on. Wavetable synthesis is more accurate than FM synthesis, and the higher the sampling rate, the more faithful the sound reproduction. Also spelled wave table synthesis.
