  • A server, such as a proxy server, which caches Web pages and other material downloaded from the Internet. If a page request can be satisfied by a cache server, the response time is faster, and bandwidth is economized. Pressing the browser's refresh icon usually accesses the specific location where the desired Internet resource is located. Also called cache server.
