wet etching

Definition

Electronics

  • Etching in which the material to be removed is dissolved through immersion in an appropriate chemical solution. Once the etch is completed, the substrate is rinsed to remove any residual etchant which might otherwise continue etching or become a contaminant. Wet etching tends to be simpler and less precise than dry etching.
