When We Dead Awaken
- The last play by Henrik Ibsen, subtitled "adramatic epilogue". It was first performed with great successin 1899 in Oslo, being seen three years later in London, and in 1905in New York. The drama received high praise in the FortnightlyReview, in an article by the 18-year-old James Joyce. The storycentres on the character of Rubek, a sculptor, and examines the relationshipbetween artistic creativity and truth.
